Commercial photography refers to photography in a professional and business context, where the purpose is to sell or promote a product, service, or brand. Commercial photographers create images for various applications, including advertising, product catalogues, annual reports, magazines, websites, and other marketing materials.
Commercial photography can encompass a variety of styles, from high-end fashion and product photography to documentary-style advertising photography. The goal of commercial photography is to visually communicate a message, whether it is to sell a product, convey a brand image, or tell a story.
Commercial photographers need to have a good understanding of lighting, composition, and post-production techniques and the ability to work with clients and art directors to achieve the desired outcome. They must also be able to work efficiently and effectively, often under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality in their work.
Evie chose the Get Ahead actor headshot photography package with hair and make up by Rebecca Tupman, as you can see she looks amazing. After spending 2 hours together shooting a variety of commercial and theatrical headshot photography we hope we have sent Evie on her way with a nice portfolio of actor headshots to get her signed by an agent and get lots of castings
Matt is a Manchester actor who got into the business later in life after a big career change. Giving up the 9 to 5 world to go back to drama school was the best thing he ever did. Since leaving drama school Matt has worked on TV in several shows, including Coronation Street (ITV), Emmerdale (ITV), Survivors (BBC1) and most notably as recurring character Michael Morton in DCI Banks (ITV). He’s also filming Houdini & Doyle (ITV) later this year. As well as TV, Matt’s featured regularly on stage nationally and has appeared in several TV commercials advertising everything from shampoo to wild red salmon!

I loved the shoot with Colin. His attention to detail and explanation of his different shots made you realise how passionate and knowledgeable he is about his craft. But all that’s nothing compared to what a great guy he is to work with. Colin’s natural warm demeanour made me feel like I was hanging out with an old mate. It was easily the most fun I’ve had on a photo shoot and certainly the best results. Cheers again Colin!
Jack made his stage debut at the age of 11 years performing in Our Day Out at the Neptune Theatre, Liverpool. Following this he went on to appear in the ITV drama Mobile and the TV series Waterloo Road. He trained at LIPA and graduated in 2012 gaining a BA hons. degree in Acting. Jack has starred in the Feature films Don’t worry about me, Small Creatures and the recently released Pleasure Island (2015) and Arthur and Merlin (2015). Professional Theatre credits include Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and the Christmas musical Hitchhikers guide to Fazakerley at the Royal Court, Liverpool.
From the first moment Colin made me feel at ease, his friendly personality set the tone for an excellent headshot session. We worked as a team to try and utilise the time together most effectively, without it ever feeling rushed. His input and direction really helped me and I am very happy with the photographs that we achieved, would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for some great headshots.
I am currently training at the Manchester School of Acting under the guidance of Mark Hudson and have been for the last 3 years. Additionally I am presenting at Key103 Manchester as the Traffic and Travel Apprentice on the Home Run show. With my new headshots I am now ready to break into the industry to take my first steps towards a professional acting career.
Colin was great fun to work with! He made me feel relaxed and at ease from the beginning. Colin worked hard to help me achieve what I wanted from the photos and I loved how he took time with me as we went along to make sure I was happy with how they looked. Colin’s passion and enthusiasm in his work really shows which I can see in the images he has produced for me. Very happy with the results and I will most definitely be using his services again!
Rosina is one half of comedy duo ‘Saints of Humour‘ performing & compering & has co-written a taster for a comedy pilot ‘Vigilantes’ which was shortlisted & screened at the CoFilmic Festival at the end of 2014. She will be featuring as Irma in CBBC’s popular show ‘Dani’s Castle’ in the summer 2015. Rosina has also featured in several Radio 4 Dramas, including ‘Monster’ written by Tony Pitts was chosen as Pick of the Week.
I recently had new head shots taken with Colin & am really delighted with the results. He made me feel immediately comfortable & relaxed & so was able to catch some great shots. I can’t recommend him highly enough
